One of the most common causes of disappointing results in laser engraving is trying to engrave a photograph without preparing it. Gravo's Image Optimizer transforms any photo into a file optimized for your machine, with processing styles designed specifically for laser engraving.
Uploading the Image and Choosing a Style
The process starts by uploading the image from the upload zone. You can drag the file directly or click to select it from your device. The tool accepts JPG, PNG and WEBP formats. Once uploaded, you select the processing style that best fits your project and the effect you are looking for on the material.

The available styles cover the most common use cases in laser engraving: Engraving for photographs with full tonal range, Line Sketch for a line effect that works very well on wood, Vectorize to convert images into clean outlines, Drawing for an artistic stroke style, and Pencil Sketch to simulate a pencil drawing. Each style generates a different result with the same input image.
The Result and Comparison
Once the image is processed, the result appears in the right panel. The gallery at the bottom of the screen shows the history of images processed with different styles, allowing you to visually compare how the same photo would look with different treatments before deciding which one to download.

When you are satisfied with the result, the download button saves the file in the appropriate format for importing directly into your engraving software (LightBurn, LaserGRBL, xTool Creative Space, etc.). The downloaded image is already processed and ready to use — no additional adjustments are needed in the cutting software.
Direct Access to the Parameter Assistant
After finishing image processing, Gravo offers you a direct shortcut to the Parameter Creator. This closes the work cycle: you process the image, get the optimal parameters for engraving it with your specific machine and material, and have everything you need to start the job in a single flow.

All images you process are automatically saved to your Image Vault, where you can access them at any time, change their visibility or download them again without having to reprocess them. The optimizer not only improves your images — it organizes them in your work history.
